Science and Environmental Journalist

I cover biology and climate science, Midwest environmental issues and environmental justice from my home in Madison, WI.

Before trading the lab bench for journalism, I spent three years studying how copepods (tiny aquatic crustaceans) adapt to temperature and salinity shifts caused by climate change.

I worked at Inside Climate News as a 2023 AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellow and at Sierra Magazine as an editorial fellow.

My work has also appeared in Nature and Hakai Magazine and is syndicated in Smithsonian Magazine, Mother Jones, Ars Technica, and Canada's National Observer.
